Group Menus are the Left-Hand Navigational Menu for IWP Groups. While we recommend main links along the lines of 5 or 6 items, we do not recommend that folks use the number of 25, 50,100 links that some folks have. Rather, we recommend link 5 or 6 main items, and then placing second, third level items on the parent page itself.
Why should you limit the number of navigational items in the left nav? The first reason is that folks find them obnoxious, and difficult to use. The second reason is Mobile Devices. The left nav is placed at the top of the page, and when open, becomes the primary view of the page until you are able to move down through the navigational elements, to finally find the primary content of the page. It's a bad experience, especially concerning that more of our traffic comes from Mobile Devices.
Instead of ongoing left hand navigation elements, you could try listing additional links on the page such as this:
But should you desire to update the Group Menu, you can go to your Group Home, and then the Group you have desire in updating, and finally the Group Menu of that group.
1. Go to Group Home
2. Click on your Manage Content Link
3. Click on the Edit Content you want to add to the Group Menu
4. Click on the Provide a Menu link
5. Add Menu Link Title
6. Add a Description for hover
7. You can change the parent link
8. You can also change the menu link Weight

9. Save the Menu Update
10. click on View the Group page
