Join the UCCE Master Food Preservers for their monthly general Q&A session. A panel of volunteers specializing in freezing, dehydrating, canning and food safety will be available to answer your questions, share their tips and encourage you to safely preserve food at home.
The UC Master Food Preservers of El Dorado County are teaming up with the El Dorado Farm Bureau for this event. In this class we will discuss and demonstrate the basics of boiling water canning. We will discuss how to safely can products at home using science-based methods and recipes.
In this hands-on class, youll be instructed on safe methods to preserve jam (full sugar, low sugar, sugar substitute, and no sugar varieties will all be discussed). While the jam is in the canner, youll learn about dehydrating herbs and develop your own herbal tea blend.
