The UC Master Gardeners of Tuolumne County host an information table at the Sonora Certified Farmers' Market, May through October in downtown Sonora, Saturdays from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

Have you ever wondered how to cure and preserve your own olives? There are multiple ways to remove the bitterness from olives to make them edible: lye cure, dry salt cure, water cure, brine cure and fermented.

Go beyond dill pickles! Many other vegetables and fruits can become a pickled or fermented product, without canning to be enjoyed in the short term, or canned for a shelf-stable product for year-round enjoyment.

Come along to our weekly Workday & Open Garden Gate - we are now operating winter hours - 11am to 4pm. Open year-round on Thursdays - the public is welcome to explore the garden, ask for advice, take free seeds home to plant, buy plants, share in the harvest and more.
