The UC Master Gardeners of Orange County Speakers Bureau are scheduling presentations In-Person and / or on the Zoom Meeting platform.
The UC Master Gardeners of Orange County Speakers Bureau is dedicated to enriching our community through educational gardening presentations for local organizations. Our presenters are certified UC Master Gardeners—enthusiastic volunteers with hands-on experience, having completed more than 60 hours of training through UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR).
Where We Speak
Our team offers educational demonstrations, presentations, and workshops to a wide variety of groups in Orange County, including:
- Garden clubs and plant societies
- Schools and libraries
- Neighborhood associations and civic organizations
- Churches and community centers
- Businesses and various educational groups
About Our Presentations
- Format: Presentations are typically conducted in person or via Zoom, featuring informative PowerPoint slides.
- Length: Most sessions run between 45 and 60 minutes.
- Topics: We offer a diverse selection of more than 50 topics, and we are always adding more.
- Frequency: Each year, we deliver more than 100 presentations, with many organizations inviting us back year after year.
- Demonstrations: Presentations including hands-on demonstration components require reimbursement for materials, paid to the speaker in advance.
- Participant Minimum: A minimum of 15 attendees is requested to schedule a presentation. Some speakers may require a minimum of 20, in consideration of their preparation and travel time.
Cost
Our services are offered at no charge. We do gratefully accept honorariums and donations from organizations that do so, to support our ongoing educational outreach. For honorariums, please make checks payable to UC Regents (the Regents of the University of California)—no cash, please. The speaker will collect the check at the event.
Requesting a Speaker
We welcome requests from community organizations throughout Orange County. To schedule a presentation:

- Select a topic that aligns with your group’s interests.
- Complete the Speaker Request Form, providing accurate contact details.
- Click SUBMIT on the form to send your request to our Speakers Bureau team.
Bookings are accepted up to one year ahead. Currently accepting requests for October 2025 and beyond for on-site presentations or remotely via Zoom. Volunteer availability varies; please call or email to see if we can accommodate your request.
What to Expect Next
- Your request will be received and reviewed by a Speakers Bureau volunteer. Please allow several days for processing.
- The volunteer will contact you to confirm your details and finalize the scheduling of your presentation.
