Fall Plant Sale September 20, 2025
9 am - 3 pm at Balboa Park
Hundreds of Gardener-grown Plants for Sale Plus Live Demonstrations and Educational Opportunties
San Diego, Calif. – The University of California (UC) Master Gardener Program of San Diego County will be hosting its annual Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 9:00am to 3:00 pm in Balboa Park’s Casa Del Prado Room 101 and Patios A and B.
- The event is free and open to the public.
- People may shop from hundreds of plants offered at affordable prices. We will have a large variety of drought tolerant and native plants, unique houseplants, and edibles for a Fall garden.
- Shoppers may browse through a large supply of handmade garden art, bird houses, and succulent decorated pumpkins for purchase.
- Our very popular Green Elephant will be offering the best deals possible on repurposed garden tools, equipment, pots, garden decor, and more.
- UC Master Gardeners will be hosting free “Lightning Talks” on a variety of topics, including Vegetable Gardening, California Native Plants, Tool Care, Poinsettia Cultivation, and Beginning Landscape Design.
- UC Certified Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions with specific advice for our local habitat. We will conduct demonstrations in gardening techniques and floral design, and host many information gardening exhibits.
- Our Tool Sharpening and Cleaning team will be on hand to clean and sharpen a good working pair of pruners or loppers per shopper while they are busy buying plants and/or attending talks!
Proceeds from the Fall Plant Sale will benefit community activities that volunteer Master Gardeners participate in, ranging from school and community garden projects to sensory experience gardening at many memory care facilities throughout San Diego County.
The UC Master Gardener Program of San Diego extends to the public, research- based information about home horticulture and pest management. Master Gardeners are selected and trained by the UC to volunteer in the community, educating home gardeners on tested gardening methods. The UC San Diego County Master Gardener Program was formed in 1983 and has over 300 active volunteers who donate thousands of volunteer hours to the community each year.
