At 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the University of California Desert Research and Extension Center - (1004 Holton Rd, Holtville, CA), we will display for your observation and evaluation our hybrid carrot trial.

On October 4th, 2019, I flew from the San Diego airport to attend the 33rd Annual Conference of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, or HACU, as part of the Student Track's Adelante Institute in Chicago Illinois.

There are several Hispanics/Latinx working at the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources UC ANR that provide services to communities statewide.

On April 1st, I started my internship with the University of California Desert Research and Extension Center (UC DREC) and the Farm Smart program. When I began this internship, my only experience was working with high school and college students.

Participants representing Imperial County cattle feedlots came together on April 22nd to discuss food safety at the Livestock Food Safety Workshop held at UC DREC.

UC DREC hosted the 2019 Agronomic Crops and Irrigation Water Management Field Day on April 11. The field day was organized by UCCE Imperial County and included a hay wagon ride tour through field research projects and indoor presentations.

Internships are a proven way to gain relevant knowledge, skills, and experience while establishing important connections in the field.

Nearly 125 local high school FFA students from Calexico, Imperial, Southwest, Holtville and Brawley high schools visited Farm Smart, located at the University of California Desert Research and Extension Center (UC DREC), in September for the first annual AgVenture Field Day.
