What is Qualtrics?
Qualtrics is web-based software that allows users to create surveys and generate reports.
Why use Qualtrics?
Qualtrics enables you to design and distribute high-quality surveys and forms. Results can be viewed in reports and can be downloaded. A Qualtrics account is essential for accessing your county’s copy of the Qualtrics version of the UC Master Gardener Program Trainee Application.
NOTE: Continue to use ANR Survey Tool to collect registration fees as Qualtrics will not perform this function.
How do I obtain a Qualtrics account?
Step 1: Program personnel access the form linked on the UCANR Program Evaluation page. (Note: Scroll to 'Register for an ANR Qualtrics Account').
Step2: Complete the form (inputting your ucanr.edu email address when prompted)
Step 3: Monitor your ucanr.edu email inbox for information on next steps.
How do I obtain a secondary Qualtrics account?
UCANR's Program Planning and Evaluation has approved UC Master Gardener Program personnel to submit for Qualtrics accounts affiliated with a generic ucanr.edu email address. This new practice will allow personnel to apply for a second Qualtrics account (in addition to applying for an account associated with their personal ucanur.edu email address). As a result, UCANR personnel will be able to provide Qualtrics access to select volunteers, via this secondary account.
Step 1: Program personnel access the form linked on the UCANR Program Evaluation page. (Note: Scroll to 'Register for an ANR Qualtrics Account').
Step 2: For email, input the generic ucanr.edu email address.
Step 3: For name, input program coordinator or Advisor first and last name (Note: UCANR personnel will remain the primary contact for that new account that the volunteers will be using). If a program coordinator already has a personal ANR Qualtrics account, no worries! Program coordinator names can be used for both accounts: personal plus generic.
Step 4: Monitor the generic ucanr.edu email inbox for information on next steps.
Note: If there is ever a change in the Program Coordinator (or Advisor) position, contact Kit Alviz (kit.alviz@ucop.edu). Kit will update the first and last name associated with the generic Qualtrics account.
How can I learn more about Qualtrics and/or get Qualtrics support?
- Training: Qualtrics offers great online trainings that you can take at your convenience. Visit Qualtrics’ basecamp training webpage, which offers six new user training modules (93 minutes) for developing, distributing, and analyzing surveys.

- Click on the ? icon in the upper right-hand menu.
- Select Contact Support at the bottom of the pop-up window.
