About the Event

Program: Over 500 species of birds have been seen in Marin County, and you can see some of them just by looking out your backyard windows. It’s easy, interesting and a lot of fun doing backyard birding, and Marin Master Gardener Bob Mauceli will help you learn more about some of the most frequently seen of these backyard birds. He’ll also give you some pointers on how to make these birds easier to see by building a simple, sustainable bird-friendly habitat in your backyard.

Speaker: Bob Mauceli has been a Master Gardener for almost 17 years – 8 in Marin and 9 in Monroe County NY. He is a co-founder and co-chair of the Marin Master Gardener (MMG) Native Plants Guild, co-chair of the MMG Garden Walks Project and an original member of the MMG Fire-smart Project Team. He is also a member of the California Native Plant Society, Marin Audubon Society, and a long-time birder. He talks about gardening with native California plants, building home habitat corridor gardens, attracting birds to home gardens, and turning home landscapes into wildfire-smart landscapes.
