Apple Pie Filling - 2025

Preserve the apple bounty with us by canning apple pie filling at this in-person, hands-on class.
Participants will bring their own apples (approx. 9 pounds). Almost any type of firm apple will work fine for this canned apple pie filling. You want an apple that is going to hold its shape when cooked. Some good options are Granny Smith, Braeburn, Honey Crisp, Macintosh and Gravenstein.
You will learn Boiling Water Bath Canning, how to work with ClearJel (canning specific product for thickening canned pie filling), ways to make pantry safe pie filling.
Registration will include the following: jars, lids, rings, Clear Jel, spices, sugar, equipment and tools.
You will go home with 3-4 quart jars of apple pie filling, handout with recipe and a few other great apple canning recipes.

Fee: $35 for you and up to one guest
