About the Event

Cool season vegetable gardening is different from planting a summer garden. Not difficult but you do need to pay a bit more attention to temperature and growing conditions. In this class you will learn about optimal soil and ambient temperatures which determine when you plant your cool season vegetables. You will also learn how to tweak conditions to favor those plants growing in your garden. Cool season vegetables include most Asian, root, and cabbage family vegetables, and many leafy greens.

UC Master Gardener Presenter Leslie Muennemann: Leslie has been a master gardener since 2008.  She is also a master composter and lectures on home composting. Leslie has been gardening her entire adult life. She grew up in Mexico, returning to the U.S. to attend college in 1973, and is one of our bilingual, Spanish speakers. She has made presentations on home and worm composting, and California native gardening.
