Managing Implicit Bias Certificate Series (eLearning, UC Learning Center)

Course link
The UC Managing Implicit Bias Series is a collection of six brief eCourses designed to help learners understand, recognize, and manage implicit bias in professional settings. The series begins with an overview of what implicit bias is, explaining how the brain uses mental shortcuts and how unconscious attitudes form. It then explores the real-world impacts of these biases on behavior and decision-making. Subsequent modules focus on strategies for increasing self-awareness, identifying common forms of bias — especially in the workplace — and applying mindfulness and de-biasing techniques. The final course addresses ways to mitigate bias specifically in the hiring process, offering practical tools for interviewers and hiring committees. Each course is under 30 minutes and emphasizes awareness, reflection and action.

Addressing Bias, Bigotry and Discrimination Speaker Series: War Crimes and Accountability (Virtual, UC Davis Health)

Sep 25 at Noon - 1 p.m. | Learn details and register

Heightened tensions stemming from the conflict in the Middle East have led to hate crimes and discriminatory incidents on campuses nationwide. Compounding these tragic events are the political climate and the resultant silencing of discourse. This has impacted our faculty, staff, and students, who need to collectively process these events. This Grand Rounds series hosted by the Department of Internal Medicine hopes to establish a safe forum where perspectives can be expressed and shared with thoughtful exchange of ideas. Nationally renowned experts and speakers in their respective fields have been invited to deliver this series. This Grand Rounds speaker series is funded through a grant, that was awarded to the Department of Internal Medicine, to address and combat antisemitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of bias, bigotry and discrimination.
