California Naturalist Course with Hayward Area Recreation and Park District

Take your love for nature to the next level. This certification program connects teens with California’s ecosystems through hands-on fieldwork, science-based learning, and community engagement. Explore local habitats, deepen your knowledge, and become a steward for the natural spaces you care about. Led by our experienced educators, this is a two week cohort program, transportation throughout the East Bay is included.

Organization Description: The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, known locally as “H.A.R.D.," is an independent special use district created to provide park and recreation services for over 309,000 residents. Our boundaries encompass a 100 square-mile area, which includes the City of Hayward and the unincorporated communities of Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Ashland, Cherryland, and Fairview.
