VOTING DEADLINE EXTENDED: Referendum to consider proposed major amendments to the California Dry Bean Research and Marketing Program.
Voting Period Ends: July 2, 2025
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has extended the voting period for the referendum to determine whether proposed major amendments to the California Dry Bean Research and Marketing Program (Program) should be implemented. This referendum determines whether the assessment structure for dry bean producers and handlers will be amended or not. The extension was issued on June 17, 2025 because the minimum 40% participation threshold had not been met.
As of today, the minimum 40% participation threshold has still not been met. The CDFA is urging all eligible growers and handlers to submit their ballots before the final deadline. In order for your ballot to be counted, it must be postmarked or otherwise received by the CDFA Marketing Branch no later than July 2, 2025.
