Open House - Water Conservation Garden - OG2025

Come join us for an open house! UC Master Gardeners and the Pacific Oaks Community Garden in El Cerrito are creating a Water Conservation Garden and Educational Center for the home gardener. We are in our third year experimenting with new and old technologies to collect and save water for growing vegetables and native plants. We have work parties every second Saturday of the month from 9 am until noon. Public participation is encouraged and welcomed. 

Come and get a tour of the garden and hear about the various projects we have undertaken and our plans for the future. This garden provides a great opportunity to work side by side with UC Master Gardeners. 

This summer we will also be hosting a speaker series with talks on timely topics related to conserving landscape water use, gardening with native plants, firewise gardening practices, and collecting and saving seeds.

*Note: The garden is covered in deep mulch, the terrain is uneven; the nearest toilet facility is at El Cerrito Community Center, about a block away.
