Master Gardener School Garden Leaders Workshop

Description: School Garden Leaders -- learn and share ideas at our Spring workshop on Saturday, Mar 16 2024, from 9:00 am to noon. The workshop will be held at Garfield Elementary School in San Francisco and you will have an opportunity to visit their gardens.

Topics:

  • How to use a Hydroponic Tower at School
  • Planning Garden Lesson Curriculum
  • Grade Level Lessons Example
  • Setting up a Worm Bin

Workshop Fee: $30 donation requested to support the UC Master Gardener Program and use of the school facility.

School Garden Workshop Team: UC Master Gardeners Betsy Colby, Mara Higdon, Kim Ricket and Kristi Waldron. Together they have over 50 years of experience creating lessons and teaching in school gardens. The team supports school gardens throughout San Mateo and San Francisco counties by offering consultations and advice to new and existing school garden programs. They hold workshops to help educate school garden leaders and to give them ideas they can bring back to share in their own school gardens. They look forward to helping teachers and parents find ways to include gardens in their curriculum.
