Entering your preserved food in the El Dorado County Fair adds excitement to the process. You may not be able to predict your competition, but knowing what judges are looking for increases your chances of bringing home a blue ribbon. Taste is just one thing judges are evaluating - they are looking for much more!
Led by UC Master Food Preservers, attendees will be exposed the best practices for safe food preservation and helpful tips to help win that blue ribbon. Teachers will be focusing on recommendations on things including headspace, acidity, jar sizes, cleanliness, recipes and procedures.
