Wildfire & Disaster Information for Ranchers

Annual rangelands in the Sierra Foothills are prone to fire. Download our After the Fire: Resources for Ranchers guide to get information about protecting your soil, restoring forage productivity, and preventing the establishment of weeds.

Disaster Livestock Access Pass

Commercial livestock operations in El Dorado, Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne Counties can obtain a disaster livestock access pass from their county agriculture or sheriff's departments. These passes provide training in fire safety and allow ranchers to access their livestock within an evacuation zone with approval from incident commanders and local law enforcement.
