4-H Youth Development Program

About Us

Our Story

Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders Through Hands-On Learning

Founded in 1902, 4-H is one of the nation’s largest youth development programs. Its mission is to equip young people with the skills they need to succeed in life, focusing on three core areas: civic engagement, leadership, and life skills.

The San Bernardino County 4-H Youth Development Program was established on January 1, 1957. Today, the program includes nine fully chartered clubs and several special interest groups. Through diverse projects and events, 4-H provides opportunities for every young person to explore their interests and discover their spark.

Our program emphasizes hands-on learning and thrives through the involvement of dedicated adult volunteers, community partners, and youth-serving organizations. 4-H is open to all, embracing youth and adult volunteers of all backgrounds—regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender identity, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

The University of California 4-H Youth Development Program engages youth in reaching their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development.

Experience San Bernardino County 4-H

Did you know that young people can choose to learn about anything that interests them and, while gaining knowledge on that subject, also acquire essential life skills, such as community service, compassion, and care for others? 4-H is a youth development program that offers this opportunity to children and teens aged 5 to 19.
