Amazing Biennial
One of the most beautiful cut flowers I have had the pleasure of working with are Canterbury Bells, Campanula medium. They come in white, pink, purple and I have read even blue but have yet to see those.

They are a great line flower (tall) in floral arrangements. The stems have bristly little hairs on them, and the plants are covered with bell shaped, sweetly scented, like a delphinium or larkspur. They are biennial plants when grown in the garden. Meaning they will have two growing seasons. The first year they will produce leaves and roots, the second year they will produce flowers and seeds. They attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. They would add a lovely addition to any cottage garden. You can keep these plants going year after year if you let them spread their seeds. They will grow approximately 2' x 2' and may be planted in masses to help support each other, or they may require some staking. These will do there best when planted in full sun. I know I will be trying this one out in my garden this year!
