The 4-H uniform hat is a source of pride for the California 4-H Youth Development Program. California is the only state to have a 4-H uniform hat! Many members use the hat to display their achievement pins.

4-H Record Books serve a variety of purposes in the California 4-H Youth Development Program. While society has changed, so have the goals of 4-H record keeping. 4-H Record Books allow members to reflect on their yearly work completed as well as maintain records of project and club work.

San Diego County 4-H is not affiliated with any fairs and can not distribute fair information. Below are the three fairs in San Diego County, each has 4-H classes and divisions, and their contact information.

A uniform is not required for participation in any 4-H sponsored activity, event, meeting or occasion. California 4-H does provide a recommended dress guideline for 4-H events that require business, business casual, and casual attire.

Junior, intermediate and senior members may all strive for star ranks. Each star level takes an average of two years to complete. Star rank achievers receive a tangible star, which is often attached to the 4-H hat. Bronze Star: Complete at least 5 of the 8 PDR categories.

It is the function of San Diego County 4-H YDP Expansion and Review Committee (E&R committee) to help expand 4-H YDP opportunities for members and adult volunteers, to help strengthen approaches to 4-H YDP delivery, and to add quality to the educational process.

The Ramona Stars 4-H Sewing Project made Fidget Mats for senior citizens with Alzheimers. The project was a comfort service project inspired by the 2019 California 4-H State Fashion Revue.

Im a cat person. Unfortunately, since my brother is allergic to cats, we only have a dog -- a dog thats been known to chase cats. But Ive found a way to spend time with cats, through volunteering. I first heard about this volunteer opportunity through one of my 4-H leaders, Lea OReilly.
