As Master Gardeners we love to share our mantra right plant, right place, and many of us throw in right time as well. Planting the right plant (suited for your climate, microclimate etc.) in the right place (appropriate sun, soil, wind exposure etc.) helps your plants to survive and thrive.

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) has partnered with San Andreas High School for over a decade. The partnership began with EFNEP bringing workshops on preparing and eating healthy food to the Cal SAFE program for pregnant teens.

What motivated you to be a University of California Cooperative Extension San Bernardino County Master Gardener? I first heard about the Master Gardener program on a camping trip.

It feels like spring is here! It might not stay, as we sometimes have a few false starts here in So Cal, but the birds are singing, the trees are sending out blooms and summer veggies are getting seeded and about ready to be transplanted.

Successfully supporting farming, homemaking and youth development with science-based solutions during UC Cooperative Extension's first 60 years in California prompted UC Agriculture and Natural Resources leaders to consider other ways the same concept could improve American lives.
