UC ANR held its very first Black History Month Program in February and the series of events were well-attended and enthusiastically received.

I had a brief email exchange with Sue Mosbacher the other day. She is not bored. I can see why she is writing proposals and working on online delivery of Master Food Preserver classes. She has done some amazing work check it out! I spent Tuesday meeting with REC directors.

Californians growing food in cities now have help understanding the food safety laws that apply to them. A free publication containing California-specific information on rules and regulations for urban farmers was recently published by the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources.

As we close out the first month of the New Year, our hope for the UC Master Gardener Program is that 2021 will be a year of continued growth in gardening education and support for our neighbors, friends, and communities.
