Most 4‑H members participate through a local community club—this is the heart of the 4‑H experience. Community clubs are where members connect with others, share what they’re working on, and stay up to date on events and opportunities across our local 4‑H program.
We recommend choosing a club that’s close to where you live to make attending meetings easier. If you have more than one option in your area, you might:
- Join the club a friend or classmate is already part of
- Choose the club that offers a meeting time that works best for your family
It’s okay to try a club this year and then switch to another next year if your needs or schedule change. Clubs are about community, flexibility, and helping youth feel supported as they explore and grow. If you’re unsure which club is the best fit, we’re happy to help you decide!

Starting a New Club?
We're always interested in starting new 4-H clubs in our communities. If you would like to start up a new 4-H near you, contact us!
A community club will require a few adult leaders who have gone through our approval process, and of course enough kids nearby to make it a multifamily experience.
