In the Garden this Week

At least 2 surprises this week from the garden. First, we had a lot of gusty wind late this week, strong enough to snap my bell pepper bush. So, for now, the immature peppers are laying on the patio table getting morning sun. Next time it will be planted in a sturdy tomato cage.

Mistletoe Cactus-a cute, hairy epiphyte with mini blooms

An epiphyte is a fascinating plant, almost otherworldly, like the star of Little Shop of Horrors. In their preferred habitat, these cactus that normally grow in the jungle attach their roots to the crotch of trees and dangle their branches downward.
