Stop and Smell the Lupine (and See too)

I commute to Fairfield just about every morning.  While driving in, I listen to my Scottish crime thriller on Audible, and I take the time to look at the hills and note any changes to the landscape.

Spring is here and I take pleasure in seeing the Vacaville hills cloaked in their emerald garb and think soon enough, summer will end that verdant beauty. But for now, I look at the hills and see the blooming lupine.  There are patches of purple and white all over the hills between Vacaville and Fairfield.  If you were able to get closer to the flowers, you'd note they emit a sweet fragrance, and the leaves are adorable and unique as well.

I've tried growing purchased lupine in my own garden but have never been successful.  So, I guess I will enjoy the lupine on the hills, side of the road and at my friend's house.
