I was wandering around my garden enjoying the glorious spring blooms. Here are 3 of my favorites.
This beautifulpelargonium is at least 10 years old, greeting visitors on the front walkway.Pelargoniums are more tender than the common geranium, and shade from a small persimmon tree is helpful during the hot summer.

A few years ago, I scattered a packet of Viola tricolor a.k.a Johnny Jump-Ups or hearts' ease. Their bright little faces make me happy, and how wonderful that they always self-sow.

Spanish lavender plants are currently the biggest bee attraction in my yard. Even though its not a California native plant, our native bees are most attracted to purple, blue, yellow and violet colors. Which would explain their constant buzzing around Spanish lavender.

Cheers!
