The author is a Chelsea Gold-medal winning horticulturalist, and resident gardener on ITV's This Morning show.  He also co-presents Britain's gardening television show, Love Your Garden.  He lectures on the topic of the positive power of plants, and the beneficial health effects of plants.  And upon reading his book, you can tell he's passionate about the positive effects of plants.

The book starts off with chapters on houseplants and mental well-being, houseplants and air quality, and plant colors that enhance your mood.  There are also chapters on engaging children with houseplants, as well as where to place your houseplants, cultivating them, and buying them.  Then the book continues to examine fifty houseplants ranging from ferns to orchids and succulents and carnivorous plants.

The book features a full-color photo of all fifty plants.  For each plant, he provides information such as the amount of sun and temperatures required by the plant, how quickly they grow, etc.
