UC Cooperative Extension will host two meetings this summer for the rice industry.
The Rice Production Workshop covers the principles and practices of rice production in California. The meeting will take place on July 23-24, 2025 from 8:30am to 3:30pm on both days. The workshop will be held at the UC ANR Building in Davis (2801 2nd Street, Davis, CA 95616). Registration is required and includes a binder of material and lunch and refreshments. Registration is limited and closes on July 20th. Continuing education credits will be offered. Please see the attached agenda for more information.
The Weedy Rice Meeting will focus in on the biology and management of this important pest and on general weed management research. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 10:00am to 1:15pm at the Roberts-Union Farm Center (4925 Howard Road, Stockton, 95206). Registration is requested to assist us with planning and is free. Please see the attached agenda.
In addition to the UCCE meetings, the Rice Experiment Station will hold its annual field day on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 7:30am to noon at the Rice Experiment Station (955 Butte City Highway, Biggs, 95917). The field day is an opportunity to learn about rice variety development at the station and weed management research from UC personnel.
